Forklift plunges into garden in Istanbul, driver dies

A fatal accident occurred in Üsküdar, Istanbul, when a forklift driver lost control on a steep road, resulting in the vehicle plunging into a residential garden. The incident happened around 8 a.m. on Kısıklı Mahallesi Dikbayır Sokak.

Fahri İ., 32, was operating the forklift to transport artificial turf when he reportedly lost control on the incline. The forklift then veered off the road and fell into the garden of a nearby house. Citizens who witnessed the accident immediately alerted emergency services.

Firefighters, medical teams, and police responded to the scene. Paramedics confirmed that Fahri İ. had died from his injuries. Police secured the area, and forensic teams conducted an examination of the crash site. The driver's body was taken to the morgue after the initial investigation.

Ismail Kıraç, a witness who works at a nearby school, described the scene. "I was going to work. I saw the forklift on the upper road and then saw it descend here. But when a truck driver friend ran down here, I came and looked, the poor man had fallen there. But there was nothing we could do," he said.
