Former Dinamo Star Junior Fernandes Joins Rudeš for Season Push

Zagreb's Rudeš has secured a significant reinforcement for their season with the arrival of former Dinamo star Junior Fernandes. The 38-year-old Chilean international forward joins the newly promoted club just a day after they secured their first win of the season.

Fernandes brings a wealth of experience to Rudeš. He previously played 102 matches in the Croatian top league, scoring 38 goals and contributing 15 assists. His European career began in 2012 when Bayer Leverkusen signed him from Chile for 4.7 million euros. He joined Dinamo on loan a year later, and the club bought him outright in 2014. With Dinamo, he won four league titles and participated in the Europa League and Champions League.

After leaving Dinamo in 2017 for Turkey's Alanyspor, Fernandes played for clubs including Al-Ittihad, Istanbul Başakşehir, Adanaspor, and Universidad de Chile. He also represented Chile in 20 international matches. Last season, he played 40 games in the second Turkish league, scoring 14 goals.

Fernandes has transitioned from a winger to a central forward role with age. Rudeš anticipates his goal-scoring prowess will be crucial in their fight to remain in the top division.
