Former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah speaks on 74kg gold discovery amid corruption probe

Febrie Adriansyah, the former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), has broken his silence following his designation as a suspect and subsequent detention in a corruption and money laundering case. The arrest reportedly stems from the discovery of 74 kilograms of gold at his residence in Sentul, Bogor, West Java.

Adriansyah, who was taken to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention center for 20 days, addressed the allegations briefly before being escorted to a vehicle. When questioned about the gold found at his home, he deferred to the investigators, stating, "Let the investigative prosecutors see whose it is and what activities it was used for. Later, ask the investigators to answer."

The Attorney General's Office officially named Adriansyah a suspect, leading to his detention. Adriansyah expressed his belief that the evidence presented was insufficient for his arrest, stating he had discussed with investigators that the evidence needed further verification. He argued that multiple exposures and confirmations should precede such actions.

"But this has become my leadership's decision. I am ready to face it, and I feel this is criminalization. Thank you," Adriansyah told reporters, indicating his strong disagreement with the proceedings and his perception of being unfairly targeted.
