Former Manchester City Captain Andy Morrison Returns to Commentary After Ramsay Hunt Syndrome Battle

Andy Morrison, the former captain of Manchester City, is making a comeback to the commentary booth after a challenging period battling Ramsay Hunt syndrome. The 56-year-old revealed his diagnosis earlier this year, acknowledging that his recovery would be a lengthy process.

In May, Morrison indicated that his recuperation would take a significant amount of time. However, he has now shared optimistic news on social media, announcing his return to commentary work as part of the broadcast team for Manchester City's matches. He recently provided co-commentary for a friendly game between Manchester City and Inter Milan.

Morrison described his return as "fantastic," noting that his voice felt strong enough for the role. While he admitted to struggling with a few words and names, he considered the issues minor and not overly serious. This marks a significant step forward in his recovery journey.

Despite his return to work, Morrison continues to experience lingering effects of the neurological disorder. He faces difficulties with swallowing, has lost taste sensation on one side of his mouth, and still has numbness in parts of his face. He also drinks through a straw due to muscle weakness. Reflecting on his ordeal, Morrison stated, "I didn't get out of bed for four weeks, and I couldn't speak for a month. I had very difficult moments, but I maintained a positive attitude. Everything in life passes, both good and bad, you just have to endure it."
