Former Seoul elite enclave Han River Mansion set for redevelopment as 62-story riverside landmark

Seoul’s Han River Mansion, once known as a representative wealthy neighborhood where entertainers Kang Bu-ja and Patti Kim lived, is set to be transformed into a major riverside complex.

The redevelopment plan calls for buildings of up to 62 floors and 1,668 households in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu. The revised design seeks to secure broad views of the Han River and Namsan.

It also proposes a pedestrian and green corridor linking Ichon Station with Han River Park. Yongsan District will hold a second public display of the proposed changes to the redevelopment district and maintenance plan from September 4 through October 4.
