Former Valencian president hires partner's nephew as driver

Ximo Puig, the former president of the Valencian Community, has appointed the nephew of his partner and former Justice Minister, Gabriela Bravo, as his official driver. Simeón David Vercher Bravo will receive an annual salary of 43,000 euros for this role, which involves managing the travel of the socialist ex-leader.

The appointment, detailed in the Official Gazette of the Valencian Community (DOGV), comes as Puig and Bravo are set to marry in September. Vercher Bravo fills the position left by his predecessor and will be based in the Office of the Former Presidents of the Generalitat.

Under the statute for former presidents, Puig is entitled to two advisors and a driver, in addition to office space. He has utilized all available positions, with his advisors including José Manuel Cuenca, his former regional communication secretary and personal friend. This move has drawn attention due to the close personal and familial ties involved in the hiring.
