A former Yugoslav music star who once lived in a basement and was seen at a soup kitchen is returning to television.

The singer began her career in a band before turning to a solo path. Her songs became hits across the former Yugoslavia, including “Rudi,” “Hajde da...,” “Ljuta sam” and “Brazil.”

She received many awards for her work and represented Yugoslavia at Eurovision in 1991 with “Brazil,” a song that remains a major hit across the region.
