Four adults and teenager charged with murder after baby’s death in Sheffield

Four adults and a 15-year-old girl have been charged after a newborn baby was found dead at a house in Sheffield.

Police were called to Holywell Heights in the Wincobank area on Sunday morning over concerns for the baby’s safety. Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

Two men, aged 19 and 38, and two women, aged 20 and 37, face charges of murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and perverting the course of justice. Police allege that steps were taken to conceal the killing of an infant. The 15-year-old girl has been charged with perverting the course of justice and cannot be named because of her age.

The suspects were identified as Peter Horvath, 19, of Holywell Heights; Andrea Skopova, 20, formerly of Robey Street; Nina Horvathova, 37, of Holywell Heights; Peter Horvath, 38, of Holywell Heights; and the teenage girl. All five have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court. Detectives continue to establish what happened to the baby.
