Four armed suspects carry out brazen carjacking in Colina

A brazen "portonazo" carjacking was executed by four armed assailants in Colina, Chile, leaving a 44-year-old man shaken but largely unharmed. The victim was waiting to enter a condominium in the Santa Cecilia sector when the attackers, armed with a knife, a pistol, and a long firearm, descended upon his vehicle.

According to prosecutor Felipe Olivari, the assailants aggressively began striking the car's windows, demanding the victim exit. Intimidating him, they forcibly removed him from the car, threatened his life, and then proceeded to assault him on the ground with kicks. The attackers made off with two mobile phones, fleeing the scene in the victim's car and a second vehicle that was waiting nearby.

Despite the violent nature of the attack and the threats made, the victim did not sustain serious injuries. He subsequently filed a report with the Carabineros. The investigation into the incident has been assigned to a specialized unit, aiming to apprehend the perpetrators and recover the stolen property. The crime highlights ongoing concerns about armed robbery in the area.
