Four dead in new Russia-Ukraine attacks; Russian child among victims

Cross-border attacks between Russia and Ukraine claimed at least four lives, including an eight-year-old child, during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to authorities from both nations. The exchange of drone and missile strikes targeted both Russian territory and several Ukrainian regions.

In Russia's Krasnodar region, near the Black Sea, two people were killed by Ukrainian drone attacks on the port of Novorossiisk. Governor Veniamin Kondratiev announced that an eight-year-old Russian child died in the attack, with eight others, including a minor, injured. Fragments from the drones reportedly damaged residential buildings and economic sites, leading to the evacuation of approximately 90 people.

Another fatality was recorded in the village of Volna, close to the Crimean Peninsula, with four additional injuries reported in the cities of Anapa and Gelendzhik within the same region. Russia's Ministry of Defense stated that its air defense systems destroyed or intercepted 502 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory and the Black Sea overnight.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian authorities reported two deaths and multiple injuries from Russian attacks on the city of Kherson, which is near the front lines. In the Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian drone struck a bus, injuring one person, according to regional governor Ivan Fedorov. Ukraine's Air Force announced that Russia launched 138 drones and several missiles, claiming to have downed or neutralized 112 drones. Reciprocal attacks have intensified amid the ongoing war.
