Four Indicted in Novi Sad for Assault on High School Student; Two Face Attempted Murder Charges

In Novi Sad, Serbia, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office has indicted four young men in connection with a February assault on a student from the Mihajlo Pupin Technical School. The incident occurred within the school grounds.

Against L.S. (2007) and A.P. (2006), an indictment has been filed due to the existence of a justified suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of attempted severe murder in complicity.

Two of the accused, identified as L.S. (born 2007) and A.P. (born 2006), face charges of attempted murder in complicity. The other two defendants, P.J. (born 2004) and L.A. (born 2004), have been indicted for violent conduct. Additionally, L.S. is also charged with illegal possession of narcotics, discovered in his apartment at the time of his arrest.

The prosecution has requested that the pre-trial detention for L.S. and A.P. be extended. This request is based on the "particular circumstances" indicating a risk that they might continue or repeat criminal acts.

Police and emergency medical services were called, parents were informed, and surveillance camera footage was provided to the authorities. The victim was identified and received necessary medical assistance. A meeting of the school's Team for the Protection of Students from Discrimination, Violence, Abuse, and Neglect is scheduled to monitor the situation and organize psychological support for students requiring it.
