Four Israelis arrested after illegal drugs found on party boat near Greek island

Four Israeli citizens were arrested in Greece on drug possession charges after authorities discovered a cache of illegal substances and cash aboard a private catamaran. The arrests occurred near the island of Lefkada.

The Greek Coast Guard apprehended eight foreign nationals in total, including the four Israelis, one Turkish citizen, one Italian, one Spanish, and one Latvian national. Authorities suspect the group was involved in a drug party on the vessel.

During a search of the British-flagged catamaran, officers seized approximately 56 grams of unprocessed cannabis, 10 grams of methamphetamine, MDMA, 13 ecstasy tablets, and 8.1 grams of cocaine. They also found drug paraphernalia, including plates with cannabis residue and grinders, along with 12 unidentified blue pills.

In addition to the drugs, authorities confiscated a substantial amount of cash: €7,000, NIS 3,240, and $563. Eight mobile phones, two tablets, and a laptop computer were also seized. The suspects allegedly violated Greek Law 4139/2013, which governs penalties for drug trafficking and possession.

Reports indicate that the four Israelis arrested are businesspeople, with one reportedly having ties to an Israeli coffee shop chain. The Lefkada Port Authority is conducting the preliminary investigation and has confiscated the vessel.
