Four killed in bus crash in Nayarit after returning from Claudia Sheinbaum event

Four people died and nine others were injured when a bus carrying passengers from an event for President Claudia Sheinbaum’s second report crashed into a tractor-trailer in Nayarit.

The collision occurred Saturday night on Federal Highway 15, near kilometer 100 in the municipality of Rosamorada. The vehicles hit each other head-on, but authorities have not yet determined which driver was responsible for entering the opposite lane.

Personnel from the Secretariat of Mobility, state and municipal police, paramedics and other emergency services went to the scene to carry out rescue operations. Three people, two men and one woman, died at the site. Authorities later reported that a fourth person had died after being taken to a hospital.

The identities of those killed had not been released. Authorities gave the names of nine injured passengers, whose ages ranged from 40 to 77. The passengers were reportedly returning to their communities in northern Nayarit after attending the presidential event in the state capital.
