Four Men Die in Merseyside Car Crash After Hitting Lamp-Post

Tragedy struck on Merseyside early Saturday morning as a car veered off the road, colliding with a lamp-post and resulting in the deaths of four men. The incident occurred on Liverpool Road in Huyton just before 2 a.m.

Merseyside Police confirmed that two victims were 23 years old, another was 24, and the fourth was 26. All four were declared dead at the scene. A 27-year-old male passenger, who was also in the vehicle, was transported to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The black Seat Cupra was traveling from Liverpool toward Knowsley when the driver lost control, leading to the fatal crash. In response, authorities have closed eleven roads in the vicinity, including Liverpool Road and East Prescot Road, to facilitate ongoing investigations. These closures are expected to persist throughout the weekend.

Superintendent Paul Holden of Merseyside Police emphasized the force's commitment to providing answers for the grieving families. He appealed to the public for any information, urging anyone who witnessed the crash or was in the area shortly before the incident to come forward.
