Four Negev residents arrested for alleged terror plot in Beersheba

Authorities have arrested four residents of Segev Shalom in Israel's Negev region on suspicion of planning terror attacks in Beersheba. An indictment was filed against the individuals on Friday morning following a joint investigation by the Southern District Police Central Unit and the Shin Bet.

The multi-week investigation, conducted in May and June, uncovered evidence that one of the detainees had posted social media content deemed incitement to terror. This led investigators to believe all four were involved in a conspiracy to promote terror activity and plan attacks.

According to the Shin Bet, the suspects allegedly intended to open fire on the Segev Shalom police station and carry out an attack at Beersheba's central bus station. They also reportedly aimed to establish terrorist infrastructure targeting security forces operating in the area.

In a separate operation, IDF soldiers arrested 20 suspects across the West Bank for various offenses, including suspected terror planning, arms dealing, drug smuggling, human trafficking, and Hamas affiliation. The IDF reported exchanging gunfire in Hebron and searching over 50 structures in Jenin.
