Four teenagers charged with murder after death of 21yo man

Four teenagers face murder charges after a 21-year-old man died from critical head injuries sustained during a large disturbance in Bahrs Scrub, a suburb in Brisbane's south. Police were called to Discovery Boulevard around 2:15 a.m. on July 26, where they discovered several damaged vehicles and a property that had also sustained damage.

The victim, identified as a 21-year-old man from Redbank Plains, was found on Orchard Avenue. He was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with severe head injuries, where he succumbed to his injuries on August 1. The incident prompted an extensive investigation by detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch and the Homicide Investigation Unit.

Following the investigation, 14 search warrants were executed across Logan, south Brisbane, and Ipswich on Thursday. This led to the arrest of five men, aged between 18 and 22. Joshua Jackson John Jirima, 18, Amnaud Nduwayo, 19, and Kandour Khalil Tagelsir, 18, have each been charged with one count of murder.

Another individual, 19-year-old Sunday Obol, faces charges of murder, intimidation, harassment or abuse, unlawful stalking, robbery, extortion, and deprivation of liberty. A sixth person, 22-year-old Lasender Sheriff, has been charged with contravening an order to provide information necessary to access electronically stored information.

Matters for Mr. Jirima, Mr. Nduwayo, and Mr. Tagelsir were heard in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday morning. They did not appear in court and have been remanded in custody, with their next appearance scheduled for August 24. Mr. Sheriff also did not appear and was remanded, with his case set for August 26.
