Four Turkish teams advance to league stages in European competitions

Turkey will have four representatives in the league stages of European club competitions following the conclusion of playoff matches. Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor have finalized their European fixtures, leading to an update in the UEFA country rankings. The nation will field two teams in the Champions League, one in the Europa League, and one in the Conference League.

Trabzonspor faced Ferencváros in their Europa League playoff second leg and were defeated 4-0, resulting in their elimination from that competition. However, the team will continue their European journey in the Conference League. Beşiktaş secured their place in the Europa League league stage by defeating Kauno Žalgiris 1-0 in their second-leg playoff match, advancing with a 3-1 aggregate score.

Fenerbahçe earned their spot in the Champions League by defeating Lyon 2-1 in their playoff round second leg. Galatasaray had already qualified directly for the Champions League by winning the Trendyol Süper Lig last season.

Meanwhile, Denmark also sees four of its clubs reach the Conference League league stage: AGF Aarhus, FC Midtjylland, FC Nordsjælland, and FC København. This mirrors a situation previously seen with Poland, which quickly climbed into the top 10 of the country rankings after advancing four teams to the Conference League. Denmark currently holds the 14th position in the UEFA country coefficient standings.
