Foxconn invests $31 million in New Taipei City land acquisition

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., commonly known as Foxconn, is set to significantly expand its footprint in New Taipei City with a planned investment of NT$1 billion (approximately $31 million USD) to acquire land in the Tucheng District. The company announced the decision following a board meeting.

The strategic land acquisition is intended to bolster Foxconn's mid-to-long-term operational strategy and enhance its production capacity within the region. Company officials stated that the move will provide greater flexibility for future industrial development and spatial planning, reinforcing its commitment to growth in New Taipei City.

Two professional real estate appraisal firms evaluated the land, with estimates ranging from NT$1.011 billion to NT$1.041 billion. The total land area spans approximately 5,080 square meters (about 1,515 ping) and is designated as a Type II industrial zone, allowing for a building coverage ratio of 60% and a floor area ratio of 210%.

Following redevelopment, the site is projected to offer between 3,182 and 6,364 ping of factory and office space. Foxconn plans to develop the area for businesses focused on optical communications, ultra-precision molds, and precision molding, aligning with its future operational needs and technological advancements.
