Foxconn, Mitsubishi Fuso name new EV bus venture 'Fuso Bus'

Taiwanese tech giant Foxconn and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) have solidified their partnership by naming their new joint bus manufacturing venture "Fuso Bus." This move marks a significant step towards the official launch of the company, targeted for the latter half of 2026.

The collaboration, building on an agreement from January 2026, will focus on the research, development, manufacturing, and operation of bus products. It aims to integrate Foxconn's strengths in electric vehicle platforms and smart manufacturing with MFTBC's commercial vehicle expertise. The goal is to create competitive next-generation buses and accelerate the electrification of Japan's public transportation.

Mitsubishi Fuso stated that the new company will become a specialized Japanese bus manufacturer dedicated to decarbonizing transportation. Through electrification and smart technologies, it will enhance public transport services and align with global trends toward net-zero emissions and sustainable mobility. This venture is seen as a key milestone for Foxconn in deepening its presence in the Japanese commercial vehicle market and strengthening its global electric bus strategy.
