Franco Colapinto achieved a hard-fought 10th-place finish at the Belgian Grand Prix, securing one championship point and bringing his season total to 19 after ten races in the 2026 Formula 1 season.

As is his custom, Colapinto had a strong start, climbing to seventh position early in the race, notably during an incident involving Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. However, the most significant highlight came on lap 30.

While Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly were battling for 10th place, Colapinto seized the opportunity. He executed a daring maneuver on the inside of the Kemmel Straight, overtaking both drivers simultaneously to move into a points-scoring position. He maintained this position until the checkered flag, fending off a late charge from his teammate, Gasly.

Colapinto, who wore an Argentinian national team jersey in a nod to the upcoming World Cup final, expressed contentment with his race. "I'm happy. It was a good race. Happy with the result and for having scored a point," he stated. He acknowledged facing difficulties, particularly with "graining" on his medium tires and the challenges posed by the track's long straights, which allowed competitors to close in.
