Free Food Distribution Continues in Chicago This Week

The Greater Chicago Food Depository is continuing its free food distribution efforts throughout the week of June 8-12. Residents can collect food bags at various pantries and community centers across the city. The organization, established in 1979, works with churches, non-profits, and neighborhood centers to coordinate these efforts.

Distribution begins on Monday, June 8, with two locations in Lincoln Park and Lower West Side, operating until 1:30 p.m. local time. Tuesday, June 9, will see the most distribution points, with nine organizations offering food bags in neighborhoods including Near North Side, West Loop, West Town, Lower West Side, Lincoln Park, and Near South Side. Opening times range from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Wednesday, June 10, five distribution sites will be available in areas such as West Town, Near South Side, Lower West Side, and Near West Side. Operations will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The week concludes on Friday, June 12, with five more free food distribution points.
