French ambassador highlights expanding Oman-France partnership

France and Oman are deepening their strategic partnership, with the French ambassador to Oman, Nabil Hajlaoui, emphasizing the significant progress made. He described the recent state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to France as a landmark event that has bolstered cooperation across diplomacy, economic development, and cutting-edge technologies. Speaking at France's National Day celebrations in Muscat, Hajlaoui noted that the Sultan's visit, during which he met French President Emmanuel Macron, underscored a shared commitment to peace and stability. The ambassador highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two nations, built on friendship and cooperation in various fields including culture, education, healthcare, and business. Regional peace and stability were central to the discussions during the Sultan's visit, with both France and Oman aligning on the importance of dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address regional challenges. Hajlaoui also reaffirmed France's support for Ukraine, noting the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Bastille Day celebrations in Paris as a symbol of international solidarity. The economic partnership is expanding beyond traditional infrastructure into areas supporting Oman's diversification goals, such as waste and water management, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and data science. France is also collaborating with Oman on innovative energy storage and digital government technologies, aiming to create value for Oman and foster new opportunities through partnerships with French entities.
