French minister to lead delegation at 55th Pacific Islands Forum

Minister Delegate for International Partnerships, Francophonie and French Nationals Abroad, Éléonore Caroit, will represent France at the 55th Pacific Islands Forum. Her participation underscores France's engagement with the region on critical issues like climate change and biodiversity.

During the forum, Caroit will join dialogues focused on climate-smart investment and ocean-climate action. She will also visit the Rock Islands to observe a conservation project funded by the Kiwa Initiative, a multi-donor regional program led by France. This initiative supports nature-based solutions for biodiversity protection and local economic development.

France, alongside partners, will also host a side event on climate resilience, emphasizing the role of the Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) initiative. CREWS has already improved forecasting and early warning systems for millions in vulnerable countries, aligning with the UN's Early Warnings for All initiative and a priority for the upcoming G7 Presidency.

Minister Caroit's agenda also includes bilateral meetings with Pacific Island nation representatives. These discussions aim to reinforce France's contributions to regional peace, security, climate action, economic development, and people-to-people exchanges.
