From Animation to Live-Action: "Saturday Go to Douliu" MV with High Schoolers Goes Viral Again

Yunlin County's government is boosting local tourism with a new music video. Following the success of last year's animated song "Saturday Go to Douliu," which attracted 300,000 views, they have released a "youth campus version" MV. This new video features students from four high schools: Douliu High School, Douliu Home Economics and Commerce Vocational High School, Chengsin High School, and Victoria Experimental High School.

The "Saturday Go to Douliu" song, released early last year, quickly became a hit with its upbeat melody and lyrics highlighting Yunlin's local specialties like peanuts and pomelos. Its catchy nature led many to praise it as "very different, very young and lively." The original animated video has since surpassed 300,000 views.

Chen Chi-yu, director of the County Government's Information Department, explained that the new MV focuses on "real high school life." Unlike the animated version's fantasy and meme-driven pace, this MV incorporates more campus youth elements. It depicts students meeting after school, anticipating the weekend, and interacting playfully, aiming to resonate more closely with the younger generation's lifestyle.

County Magistrate Chang Li-shan stated that the MV uses fast-paced editing and cinematic "road trip" style shots to create a youthful atmosphere. She invites people nationwide to join the Douliu High School students on a quintessential weekend journey. The new MV has already attracted over 100,000 views within three days of its release.
