From Enzo Fernández to Julián Álvarez: Premier League Transfers to Watch Before Deadline

Premier League clubs face a final rush before the summer transfer window closes on Tuesday at 23:00 BST, with several prominent players still uncertain about their futures.

Julián Álvarez is attracting interest from Arsenal and Barcelona. Atlético Madrid would prefer not to sell the Argentina international to Barcelona but would consider a deal with Arsenal. The Spanish club reportedly wants about €150 million, or £128 million, for the 26-year-old. Álvarez has missed several training sessions and did not make Atlético’s squad against Sevilla.

Manchester City is monitoring Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández. Fernández missed Chelsea’s Premier League win over Brighton on Sunday and could prompt a major offer from City. A transfer could exceed City’s club-record fee, set by the £116 million signing of Elliot Anderson earlier this summer.

Chelsea could look to Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara if Fernández leaves Stamford Bridge. The Senegal international has made 49 appearances for his country and would become Chelsea’s 13th incoming signing of the summer. Chelsea is also expected to remain active in moving players out on permanent or loan deals.

City has opened talks with Liverpool over Cody Gakpo and is prepared to offer about £85 million. Tottenham is also interested, but Gakpo reportedly favors a move to Manchester City. Liverpool would only approve the transfer if it can sign another attacker in addition to Bradley Barcola.

Liverpool has turned to Crystal Palace winger Ismaïla Sarr after Brighton rejected two bids for Yankuba Minteh, for whom Brighton wants more than the £60 million Liverpool offered. Tottenham and Everton are also in advanced discussions over Iliman Ndiaye, with Richarlison potentially moving in the opposite direction.
