From three wins in August to seven straight losses, Hanwha’s postseason hopes fade as team turns to the future

Hanwha Eagles’ hopes of reaching the postseason have faded after a disastrous August, leaving the club to look toward the future rather than dwell on disappointment.

Hanwha recorded just three wins and 15 losses during the month, the worst winning percentage among the 10 teams. A record that had been hovering around .500 has now fallen to a margin of more than 10 games below even.

The team has also suffered a seven-game losing streak, sharply changing the mood around a season that once offered more promise. With the race for autumn baseball moving further away, Hanwha has begun giving opportunities to players regarded as future assets.

The club is now making room in its starting lineup for younger resources, including at first base, a position that had remained a concern throughout the season. The shift signals a move away from chasing immediate results and toward building what comes next.
