FRSC deploys 210 personnel for Eid-el-Kabir patrol in Anambra

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Sector Command has mobilized over 210 personnel for a special patrol operation during the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. This initiative aims to enhance road safety and manage the anticipated surge in vehicular traffic across the state.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State Sector Command, has deployed over 210 personnel for the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir special patrol operations across the state.

The special patrol, which commenced on May 25 and will conclude on May 31, 2026, is part of the FRSC's annual strategic intervention program. The deployment includes regular and special marshals strategically positioned to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide prompt emergency responses. The operation seeks to reduce road traffic crashes, fatalities, and injuries, while also facilitating the clearance of obstructions and responding effectively to emergencies.

To guarantee efficient service delivery during the exercise, the Command has fully mobilised operational equipment and logistics, including patrol vehicles, ambulances, tow trucks, motorcycles, radar guns, breathalysers, and other traffic management resources.

Key focus areas for the patrol include addressing major traffic offenses such as excessive speeding, dangerous driving, overloading, and the use of mobile phones while driving. The command has also deployed operational equipment, including patrol vehicles, ambulances, and tow trucks. Mobile courts will be utilized to prosecute traffic offenders swiftly. The FRSC will collaborate with the Nigeria Police Force, the Anambra State Traffic Management Agency, and the OCHA Brigade to bolster traffic management and security during the festive period.

These include excessive speeding, dangerous driving, wrongful overtaking, overloading, lane indiscipline, use of mobile phones while driving, operation of mechanically deficient vehicles, use of expired or worn-out tyres, passenger manifest violations, and other traffic-related offences.
