FRSC recovers gun from Anambra crash scene

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State have recovered a double-barrel gun from the scene of a road traffic crash along the Awka-Enugu Expressway. The discovery occurred on Friday afternoon while a patrol team was conducting an inventory of victims' belongings after completing rescue operations.

During the exercise, officers discovered the double-barrel gun concealed among luggage inside one of the crashed vehicles.

In line with the Corps’ operational procedures and commitment to public safety, the rescue team immediately secured the firearm to prevent unauthorised access or possible misuse.

As no claimant came forward and no documentation for the weapon was available, the double-barrel gun was promptly handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and necessary action. This incident underscores the FRSC's role as critical first responders whose vigilance can lead to the recovery of dangerous items.
