Fubara endorses Chinda as preferred successor

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has publicly backed President Bola Tinubu for a second term and thrown his support behind the Rainbow Coalition political alliance in the state. During a ceremony for the Rivers Medical Industry project, Fubara declared Kingsley Chinda as his preferred candidate for the governorship.

He urged his supporters to cease delays in rejoining the coalition, emphasizing that reconciliation with Nyesom Wike's political camp had been achieved.

We have made peace in the state. And I am supporting our rainbow party, or rainbow coalition.

Fubara stressed the importance of moving forward and embracing peace, stating, "The time of war is over; it's time for peace." He cautioned supporters against invoking his name for political actions outside the Rainbow Coalition, insisting on clear alignment. "My position is this, and I’ve said it here clearly for everyone to hear," he declared, urging unity within the coalition.

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is our president, and he’s the one we are supporting.

This declaration follows Fubara's withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in May, a decision he attributed to extensive consultations and personal reflection. His reconciliation with Wike marked an end to a prolonged political feud that had previously divided Rivers State.
