Fubon pitcher Chiang Kuo-hao wins inaugural CPBL All-Star 'Connect the Dots' batting contest

Fubon Guardians pitcher Chiang Kuo-hao emerged victorious in the inaugural "Connect the Dots" batting competition held before the main event of the CPBL All-Star Game. The unique contest showcased the batting abilities of four pitchers, challenging them to hit balls into a designated 9-square grid to create connecting lines.

The game's objective was for players to hit balls into specific areas of the grid, marked with numbers. Each player had 12 batting opportunities. The numbers within the 9-square grid were randomized, and the player who formed the most horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines by occupying the grid squares was declared the winner.

Chiang Kuo-hao, with assistance from Chen Chieh-Hsien who pitched to him, and cheered on by teammate Lin Tse-Pin's support song, managed to connect four lines. He secured the championship on his final attempt, needing one more successful hit to complete a line from the first base direction.

Other participants included CTBC Brothers' foreign pitcher Logan Verrett, who completed one line with four hits. TSG Hawks' Li Hsin-ying achieved two lines with a combination of bunts and line drives. The final participant, Li Chao, efficiently completed one line but could not form any further connections.
