Fugitive Alert: Man Escapes Police in Velika Gorica, Public Warned

Police in Zagreb are intensifying their search for a 47-year-old man who escaped custody on August 18. The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. as officers were escorting the man to a police vehicle outside the County Court in Velika Gorica.

The man managed to break free from officers' grasp while being loaded into the vehicle. He fled on foot, heading towards Cvjetno Naselje, and his whereabouts are currently unknown. The County Court in Velika Gorica had ordered pre-trial detention for the individual in connection with charges of non-compliance with a court decision and violation of a child's rights.

Authorities have released a detailed description of the escapee: he is between 175 and 180 centimeters tall, with a slim build, and blue eyes. He has longer, light brown, graying hair tied in a ponytail and medium-length graying sideburns and beard. At the time of his escape, he was wearing a red short-sleeved t-shirt with 'PREFA' printed on the front and gray shorts.

Police are urging the public to exercise extreme caution and not to approach or make contact with the man if he is spotted. Instead, citizens are asked to immediately report any sightings or information regarding his location to the nearest police station or by calling 192. The Zagreb Police Department emphasized that public safety is paramount and direct contact with the escapee should be avoided.
