Fugitive with 14-Year Sentence Arrested in Istanbul

Authorities in Istanbul's Kadıköy district have apprehended a fugitive, identified as E.P., who was wanted for drug trafficking and endangering traffic safety, carrying a combined confirmed prison sentence of 14 years and 2 months. The arrest occurred after police received intelligence about E.P.'s location in a vehicle in the Kozyatağı neighborhood.

During the operation, law enforcement officers detained E.P. and discovered 336 grams of narcotics, an unlicensed handgun with its magazine and 14 rounds of ammunition, a precision scale, two mobile phones, and 4,700 Turkish Lira in cash within the vehicle. A subsequent search of the suspect's residence yielded an additional 8.3 grams of drugs, another magazine, and 35 bullets.

E.P. also faces charges related to violating the Firearms Law. Following the legal procedures, the suspect was brought before the court and subsequently taken into custody pending trial. The arrest marks a significant success for the Kadıköy District Police Department in their ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime and ensure public safety in the area.
