Defending champions Nigeria are set for a significant challenge in the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, as they will face Cameroon in the quarter-finals. This crucial match-up was confirmed after Cameroon secured first place in Group D with a 1-1 draw against debutants Cape Verde.

The draw means Cameroon finished their group stage unbeaten with seven points. They now advance to meet Nigeria, who qualified as runners-up from Group C. Cape Verde, meanwhile, exited the competition after earning their first-ever point in the tournament's history.
