FULL LIST: IG deploys new CPs to eight states, other police formations

Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has authorized the deployment of new Commissioners of Police (CPs) to eight state commands and various strategic police formations nationwide. This significant reshuffling, announced by Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu, follows approval from the Police Service Commission.

The primary objectives behind this deployment are to bolster operational effectiveness, improve leadership quality across different commands, and further consolidate the ongoing police reforms. The move signals a strategic effort to enhance the Nigeria Police Force's capacity to address security challenges across the country.

Among the newly deployed CPs to state commands are Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo for Abia, Ayodeji Faniyan for Plateau, Saka Adewale Ajao for Bayelsa, Ajo Geoffrey Ordue for Cross River, Nanna Oji Ama for Anambra, Patrick Daaor for Edo, Tani Murtala for Jigawa, and Samuel Erale for Delta.

In addition to state commands, the IGP also approved deployments to critical national formations. These include positions within the Force Intelligence Department, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Department of Training and Development (DTD), the Police Academy, and the Police Staff College. Specific appointments mentioned include CPs for Intelligence & Training, INTERPOL, Anti-Human Trafficking, General Investigation, and Counter Terrorism Unit, among others.
