Funeral held for Luigi Cavallari, husband of Italian Minister Roccella

The funeral for Luigi Cavallari, husband of Italy's Minister for Family Eugenia Roccella, took place in Rome. Cavallari, 84, tragically died after disappearing on June 27 while swimming in Lake Vico, located in the Viterbo province. He had reportedly dived from a small boat in the presence of his wife and did not resurface.

An extensive search operation was launched immediately after his disappearance, continuing for 37 days. Divers from the police force eventually located Cavallari's body underwater. He was found approximately 20 meters from the shore in the Lido dei Pioppi area, less than a kilometer from where he was last seen. The discovery brought an end to the month-long search efforts in the lake.

The search operations were complicated by the lake's challenging underwater terrain and poor visibility. The family requested a strictly private ceremony for the final farewell to Cavallari. The funeral was held at the church of San Lorenzo in Lucina in Rome.
