Gamuna Foundation empowers students through community awareness program

The Gamuna Foundation continues its dedication to youth development with a community awareness program held at St. Mary's Malmal Primary School. The initiative aims to equip students with crucial knowledge, empowering them to make positive life decisions.

The program covered four vital topics: Education, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Law and Order, and Health and Hygiene. Through engaging and informative sessions, students were encouraged to value their schooling, embrace healthy lifestyles, respect legal frameworks, and steer clear of detrimental behaviors that could jeopardize their futures.

Nicholas Gamuna, the founder of the Gamuna Foundation, explained that the initiative targets primary school students during a formative period when they begin shaping their aspirations and values. "We are reaching out to primary school students because we believe they must be motivated from an early age to set their priorities right and stay away from distractions that could take them away from school," Mr. Gamuna stated. He added, "Our presence is to provide them with the information they need to make wise decisions in life and, most importantly, to take their education seriously."

Gamuna believes that investing in young people through education and awareness is fundamental to fostering stronger communities and cultivating a brighter future for Papua New Guinea. School administrators, teachers, and students actively participated in discussions designed to inspire responsible decision-making and personal growth.
