Gang Posing as Police Raids Online Gambling Site Office, Steals 32 Million Won

A group of six men has been arrested and sent to prosecutors in Daejeon for allegedly posing as police officers to rob an online gambling site operator. The suspects are accused of breaking into the victim's office, assaulting him, and stealing cash and computer equipment. The incident occurred on June 10 at approximately 2 a.m. in an officetel located in Manseon-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was reportedly operating an online gambling site. The suspects allegedly entered the premises by impersonating police investigators. They then proceeded to assault the operator and steal valuables. The group is accused of taking 31 million won in cash and two computer main units worth about 1.3 million won, totaling 32.3 million won (approximately $24,000 USD).

According to the Daejeon Seobu Police Station, the six men, all in their 30s, were arrested and sent to prosecutors on charges of robbery and assault. The suspects reportedly obtained information that a business handling funds from online gambling sites was located in Daejeon and planned the crime accordingly. While the operator was assaulted, two other employees present were reportedly made to face a wall to intimidate them before the robbery took place.
