Garnero dismisses Zampedri-Correa debate as “utterly foolish”

Daniel Garnero dismissed a social media debate over whether Fernando Zampedri or Javier Correa is the best No. 9 in Chile’s Primera División.

Asked about the comparison at a news conference before Universidad Católica’s match against Everton, Garnero said both players were excellent and that such comparisons did not interest him. He likened the debate to choosing between Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona, calling the comparisons “utterly foolish.”

Comparisons do not interest me in the slightest. They are both excellent footballers. It is the same when people say, ‘Messi or Maradona.’ I find those comparisons utterly foolish.
