Gary Woodland Named U.S. Captain's Assistant for 2026 Presidents Cup

Former U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland has been named the fourth and final captain’s assistant for Brandt Snedeker’s U.S. Team at the upcoming 2026 Presidents Cup. This appointment signifies Woodland's debut in a captain's assistant role for the prestigious biennial team competition.

Woodland will be a part of Snedeker's leadership team, which also includes seasoned golfers Jim Furyk, Keegan Bradley, and Webb Simpson. His inclusion adds another experienced player to the U.S. side as they prepare to face international competition.

This role marks a return to the U.S. team setup for Woodland, who previously served as a captain's pick for the 2019 Presidents Cup. He also gained experience as a vice captain for Team USA at the 2025 Ryder Cup, demonstrating his commitment to team events beyond his playing career.

The 2026 Presidents Cup is scheduled to take place from September 24-27 at Medinah Country Club's Course No. 3. Woodland's appointment as an assistant captain is expected to bring valuable insights and support to the U.S. team throughout the event.
