Gayle takes over at Arnett as JPL coaching shuffle continues

Veteran coach Marcel Gayle is set to lead Arnett Gardens as their new head coach, following the abrupt resignation of Phillip Williams last week. This appointment marks the latest in a string of coaching shifts within the Jamaica Premier League during the current off-season.

Gayle's tenure at Arnett Gardens begins after his seven-year stint at Waterhouse FC concluded with his dismissal in December. His arrival at Arnett Gardens sees him replace Williams, who himself had been at the club for only one year, having succeeded Xavier Gilbert. Gilbert had moved on to Montego Bay United.

The coaching carousel continues with Javier Ainstein, Gayle's successor at Waterhouse, now heading to Montego Bay United as head coach, while Gilbert has been promoted to technical director. Donovan Duckie has departed Chapelton Maroons to take charge at Waterhouse, with Joey Jap Tjong stepping into Duckie's former role at Chapelton, assisted by former Arnett Gardens player and assistant coach Dicoy Williams.

Further changes include Alex Thomas, last season's assistant coach at Waterhouse, now leading Dunbeholden FC. Veteran coach Andrew Price has taken the reins at Tivoli Gardens, replacing Jerome Waite. Additionally, Anthony Patrick has left Racing United to join Spanish Town Police FC.
