Gaza Strip Mourns 8 Deaths in One Day Amid Ceasefire

The Gaza Ministry of Health announced on Monday the deaths of eight Palestinians and injuries to 32 others within a 24-hour period, even as a ceasefire agreement remains in effect.

According to a ministry statement, eight martyrs arrived at Gaza's hospitals over the past day, comprising seven new fatalities and one individual succumbing to earlier wounds. The statement also noted 32 injuries during the same timeframe. It indicated that several victims remain trapped beneath rubble and in roadways, with ambulance and civil defense crews unable to reach them.

The ministry reported that since the ceasefire commenced on October 11, the total number of fatalities has reached 1108, with 3578 individuals injured. Additionally, 800 bodies have been recovered.

Cumulatively, since the start of military operations in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the death toll has risen to 73,231, with 173,686 people injured.
