Gazipaşa Toroslar Günnercik Plateau Festival Concludes with Joyful Celebration

The Gazipaşa Toroslar Günnercik Plateau Festival, now in its sixth year, brought a vibrant three-day celebration to Antalya, Turkey. Organized by the Gazipaşa Municipality's Culture, Art, and Social Affairs Directorate, the event concluded with a flourish of colorful activities and musical performances.

The festival kicked off with a traditional Yörük migration parade, followed by a moment of silence and the national anthem. The Çankaya Municipality HOY-TUR Folk Dance Ensemble showcased their talent, and local artists Onur Demir and Göksel Aslan entertained the crowd with folk songs.

The evening featured a joint performance by Turkish folk music legends Musa Eroğlu and Tuğba Çimencan. Çimencan energized the thousands of attendees with lively songs, while Eroğlu's timeless melodies had everyone singing along. Eroğlu also took a moment to celebrate the 33rd wedding anniversary of Gazipaşa Mayor Mehmet Ali Yılmaz and his wife, Şerife Yılmaz, presenting them with flowers before continuing his performance.

The second day included free time for exploring stalls and participating in children's festivals and competitions, which added excitement to the event. The HOY-TUR ensemble delivered another impressive performance, earning praise from Mayor Yılmaz, who noted the troupe's trainer was from Antalya.

The evening's musical program began with local artist Selçuk Metin and his Orchestra, followed by a captivating performance from popular Turkish folk singer İsmail Altunsaray. Mayor Yılmaz, presenting Altunsaray with flowers, expressed his admiration for the artist, calling him an "important representative of the Bozlak culture."
