Gbajabiamila Eulogises Minister-designate, Ambassador Enikanolaiye

Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, has lauded Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, the Minister of State-designate for Foreign Affairs, describing him as a "national asset." The commendation came during a send-off ceremony organized by Gbajabiamila's office in Abuja.

Gbajabiamila expressed strong confidence in Enikanolaiye's capacity to excel in his new ministerial role and make significant contributions to Nigeria's international diplomatic engagements. He recalled appointing Enikanolaiye as Senior Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs despite not knowing him personally, a decision he is now happy with due to Enikanolaiye's proven work ethic and dedication.

Ambassador Enikanolaiye, a career diplomat and former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was appointed to his current role by President Bola Tinubu on April 29. This follows his service as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations. Gbajabiamila emphasized that Enikanolaiye's distinguished career, extensive experience in international relations, and academic background have thoroughly prepared him for the responsibilities ahead.

In his response, Enikanolaiye conveyed his gratitude to President Tinubu for the appointment and to the Chief of Staff for fostering a productive work environment. He encouraged his colleagues to focus on excellence, productivity, and positive interpersonal relationships, cautioning against attitudes that breed discord. Enikanolaiye also stressed the importance of tolerance and mutual respect, citing his own family, where he is Muslim and his wife is Christian, as an example of harmonious coexistence despite differences.
