Geagea voices support for amnesty bill devised by Sunni MPs

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea has declared his support for an amnesty bill drafted by a majority of Sunni Members of Parliament. Geagea announced his backing in a statement Friday, asserting that this position has been consistent since the bill's inception.

Geagea criticized what he described as attempts by some MPs to distort the Lebanese Forces' stance on the amnesty proposal. "This has been our position from the moment the amnesty bill was proposed, and we still don't know why some MPs tried to distort our stance," he stated. He expressed confidence that the truth would ultimately prevail over any misrepresentations.
