Geneva's 'Water Dream' show aims to bring back summer festivity

Geneva is aiming to recapture its summer festive spirit with a new aquatic show, "Rêve d’eau" (Water Dream), drawing comparisons to the dazzling displays of Las Vegas and Dubai. Onlookers gathered in the Jardin Anglais to witness the spectacle, which features dynamic water jets and vibrant lighting effects.

The show, running nightly until August 30, offers a visual feast with two performances each evening. Smaller, thirty-minute versions are also presented starting at noon. The evening shows are set to a mix of pop and rock hits, while a second performance features classic waltzes and Venetian melodies.

Producer Frédéric Hohl conceived "Rêve d’eau" to fill a void in Geneva's summer entertainment calendar. Previous popular events, such as the World Cup fan zone and the Lake Parade, were canceled in recent years due to unprecedented security requirements and associated costs, particularly following the G7 summit. Hohl, an experienced producer, saw an opportunity to create a new attraction that could bring back a sense of celebration to the city.
