George Clooney and wife forced to leave French residence due to wildfires

Wildfires raging in the south of France have forced Hollywood actor George Clooney and his wife, Amal, to evacuate their estate in Brignoles. The couple made the decision to leave their property as flames drew near, with the actor expressing uncertainty about the fate of their home.

In a letter addressed to the mayor of Brignoles, Didier Bremond, Clooney's publicist shared the actor's message. Clooney stated that his primary concerns are the safety of the mayor and the town's residents. He and Amal are committed to supporting the community's recovery, emphasizing their belonging to Brignoles and their intention to contribute to its rebuilding, whatever the outcome of the fires.

At this moment we have no idea if our beautiful house will manage to get through this terrible moment and, as we evacuate the residence in Brignoles, we want to emphasize two things.

The Clooneys purchased their estate, situated amidst vineyards in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in 2021 for approximately 9 million euros. Since then, the human rights lawyer Amal Clooney and the actor have integrated into the local community. Their children, twins Alexander and Ella, who are now nine years old, also obtained French citizenship alongside their parents in 2025.
