Global Village takes over Chapultepec; hundreds enjoy food and culture from 31 countries for the 2026 World Cup

Chapultepec Park in Mexico City has transformed into a vibrant "Global Village," drawing hundreds of locals and tourists eager to explore the gastronomy, crafts, and cultures of 31 participating nations. Stretching from the Puerta de los Leones to the Monumento a los Niños Héroes, the event has created long queues of people sampling international foods and learning about diverse traditions.

The festival is timed to coincide with the 2026 Football World Cup, with many attendees wearing jerseys of various national teams. Visitors are enjoying German sausages, American cookies, and Korean beverages, among other international delicacies. For many, like Citlali Ángeles from Toluca, it's a valuable opportunity to experience global cultures without leaving Mexico.

Colombian visitor Juan described his experience as "wonderful," highlighting the warm reception he and other international guests have received. "They try to make us feel like family. Everything here in Chapultepec Park is marvelous, you feel the affection they give you," he said, extending an invitation to others to visit Mexico.

Beyond the cultural stands, a large screen is set up for fans to watch World Cup matches, complemented by a stage hosting musical performances and artistic expressions from Mexico and abroad. The Global Village is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM until June 21.
