Go Young-wook: "I can't find work in Korea... I heard they're short of AV actors in Japan"

Former Roo'ra member Go Young-wook has expressed his interest in pursuing a career as a Japanese adult video (AV) actor, citing difficulties in finding employment in South Korea. The 50-year-old posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, stating, "I just wanted to live having fun making people laugh, but it seems difficult to find a job in Korea." He then added, "I think I saw somewhere that they are short of male AV actors in Japan, if it's legally possible, if the law allows it."

Go Young-wook debuted in 1994 with the group Roo'ra. In 2013, he was sentenced to two years and six months in prison, followed by three years of electronic monitoring and five years of public disclosure of his personal information, for sexually assaulting three minors between July 2010 and his arrest. He served his sentence and was released in 2015, apologizing for his past actions.

Following his release, Go Young-wook attempted to re-engage with the public online. He opened an Instagram account in November 2020, announcing his intention to "live communicating with the world," but the account was later shut down due to reports. He also launched a YouTube channel in 2024, which was also subsequently closed.
