Golden Tower Awarded to 'Nino in Paradise' at Festival of European Film Palić

The 33rd Festival of European Film Palić concluded its run with a celebratory awards ceremony and the screening of "The Iconostas of Saint George." The event, held from July 18 to 22 in Palić and Subotica, showcased over 130 films across its festival and accompanying programs.

Laurent Micheli's film "Nino in Paradise" took home the prestigious Golden Tower for Best Film in the Main Competition program. The award for Best Director in the same category was presented to Simon Ferheven for his film "Ah, this emptiness, this terrible emptiness."

Further accolades included the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Film in the Main Competition, awarded to Gabor Holtai's "Like at Home." Special mentions from the jury went to Suzana Heinrich's "Unlucky Mother" and Stefanos Civopoulos's "Elena's Change." In the "Parallels and Collisions" program, "Tell Me How You Feel" by Łukasz Ronduda was named best film, with "Milk Teeth" by Mihai Mincan receiving a special mention.

The Audience Award Gorki List was given to "Ah, this emptiness, this terrible emptiness." Additionally, the "Aleksandar Lifka" award for outstanding contribution to European cinema was bestowed upon director, screenwriter, and actor Radoš Bajić.
