Google unveils Pixel 11 phones with slimmer cameras, AI features

Google has officially unveiled its latest Pixel 11 smartphone lineup, alongside the Pixel Watch 5 series. The new Pixel phones boast slimmer camera designs with more powerful zoom capabilities and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features aimed at streamlining user interactions.

Customers in Singapore can now place preorders for the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The series starts at S$1,299 for the base Pixel 11 model, with prices escalating for the Pro variants, reaching S$2,499 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

Among the standout new features are live translation for videos, podcasts, and voice messages. The Pro models introduce "HiLight," a tool that allows users to assign a specific color to favorite contacts, causing the phone to light up in that color when a call comes in and the device is placed face down. This complements the existing "Flip to Shhh" feature, which activates the "do not disturb" mode when the phone is face down.

Camera upgrades include a "Magic Capture" mode that automatically takes a burst of photos and video with a single shutter press. Google highlights improved light sensitivity and, for Pro models, an "Instant Night Sight" feature for faster capture in low-light conditions. These enhancements aim to provide users with compelling reasons to upgrade and expand the adoption of Google's AI tools. The new phones will also offer doubled storage capacity starting at 256 gigabytes, 30-hour battery life, and faster wireless charging.
